Crestfall - 1x progressive Vanilla server

another reason not to play on crestfall. they hate nostarius. they are being very negative and have no proof to prove their points. who would play on such server with admins insulting other servers???????

That's completely down to player choice. The attitude of the devs and some of the staff are indeed derogatory towards Nostalrius and I don't agree with a lot of those comments. I think their recent opinion has changed now that Nostalrius has actually acted on what they said back in April instead of playing footsie with Blizzard.

Still, this is the Crestfall off topic thread. We're going to rise above all the flaming and trolling and just spread the word that there is an alternative coming, that a lot of us believe will be a better emulator than a stock MaNGOS core.

Time will tell.

They do not hate nost, they are just pointing out (and being a bit harsh while doing it) the things they believe are/were their mistakes. Nost was pretty bugged, stock mangos and in the end, their main strength was their population.

People followed people and I'm pretty sure the vast majority of Nost population didn't even care that much about the bugs and the actual state of the realms as long as there is rich community.

The other thing they mentioned was the whole Nost shutdown/meeting with Blizz, which was just laughable. They were simply played by Blizz, given false promises while trying to come out of it like some kind of heroes (Legacy ambassador my ass)

The thing that you fail to grasp is that the devs here making the hard decision to shut down the server galvanized the legacy server population and the greater gaming population like nothing ever before.

They took a chance that Blizzard was being sincere in launching legacy servers and have now called Blizzard on their bluff after months of silence by rebooting the server on Elysium.

Give credit where credit is due for fcuk sake.

Or should we do a petition to ban you on Elysium as well?

I, personally have nothing against Crestfall as a server - I have no skin in the game as I never intended to play there. I've spent the past few months playing on Gamer District (WotLK server) over the summer and more recently on the toxic cesspool of a vanilla server called Vanilla Gaming.

I am just happy that Nost will be returning in a rebooted fashion on Elysium as I very much enjoyed raiding with the folks in Globo Gym and I'm happy to say that most if not all of the guild will be returning as well.

I guess it all comes down to what each of us saw in Nost shutdown. I, for one, saw a poor attempt to make Blizzard do anything, with them going to the vipers nest to meet the Blizz as nothing but a suicide. Now they cannot reopen Nost and have to settle with Valkyrie/Elysium, which is a step down for them and their standard.

Also, why would I be banned from a server I never even mentioned?

I read all of those links duki provided. I didn't see any personal attacks on anyone on the Nost development team. They were mainly bashing MaNGOS for how bad it is and how poorly of a job Nostalrius did to improve it. What is wrong with speaking the truth?

Exactly. They are not talking bad about Nost as the staff or community, but the bugs and everything that is (in their opinion) wrong with it. Now they have to prove that they can do better, and if it turns out they cannot, they will be branded hypocrites and lose possible players to the united Nost and Elysium.

Nostalrius is a joke in terms of quality. Hacks, exploits, and bugged quests were rampant. AI was easily abusable as well.

Once again, they were calling out the questionable quality of Nostalrius' core, which they are 100% correct about. I've said it once and I'll say it again: Escorts. That pretty much sums up the quality on Nostalrius. Gotta love that 500 yard aggro radius on the escort NPCs.

You'll have to forgive them, Duki, for actually expecting a quality project. They set the bar high for themselves.
