Moderation is dangerous and completely useless and i'm gonna tell you why:
1) The community here is completely toxic so banning a few or trying to moderate world is just useless
2) We are not in vanilla retail so there are better options than leaving the world to players moderation
3) Shitty moderation is worst than no moderation at all infact many are spamming just to get grizzly fags pissed
4) Streamers and ppl spamming shitty jokes like mmorpg whit that retarded meme thing don't get banned, while anyone complaining about mods or bugs get istant bann even if he's not spamming at all.

Swapping channel is not a solution and atm Devs are completing ignoring the issue like they're ignoring every other kind of complaint, that's really feenix like and terribly bad. Wanna get rid of any problem? Put level 30 requirement for world and remove moderation. Pretty simple isn't it?

The staff have made their position clear regarding player made channels such as "world", "world2", and "global".
They won't moderate it, however that doesn't mean you can't be muted or banned for breaking ToS (such as spamming nigger, cunt, faggot, and other nice swear words).

Grizzly is not responsible for Ogtucker's mute, he brought that fate upon himself when he decided to start acting like an immature 8 year old child who just learned how to swear for the first time.

The Grizzly fags, in fact, are not at all pissed but find it absolutely hilarious that someone could get so mad over a chat channel. It is by far the most entertaining experience we have ever had on a private server.

Ogtucker - we thank you for this

As has been iterated by the staff in regards to complaints with the world chat situation:

* Ignore the player bothering you
* Use LFG instead
* Leave the channel

Simple solution to a simple problem. That being said, the community can continue to demand for private channel moderation but it will continue to fall on deaf ears.
I'm more amazed that someone could spend an entire day creating new accounts just for the purpose of spamming in protest instead of leveling like the rest of us.

Gan, dude, I agree with you 100%.

I like your trolling too because it makes people think about the nature of free speech.

But, I think a lot of these basement-dwelling social trolls aren't smart enough to get it. They don't want to confront your ideas because the concept is literally too abstract for their enfeebled minds, bro.

And so they post single-word responses and nonsense replies attacking you for making a long post, WHILE ADMITTING THEY READ SAID LONG POST. Christ, so many of Nost's toxic players are imbeciles and laughably stupid. Gan, you are, at the very least, a relative genius.

Also, GRIZZLY are complete losers who take themselves really seriously for being video game players on a free server.

They're like that really bad frat that acts extra douchey just to prove they're still frat boys.

"Freedom of speech" only means that the government cannot punish you for speaking out against the government. "Free speech" does not mean "I can say whatever I want without consequences".

Fuck off with your SJW bullshit, stop trying to make drama out of a chat channel on a private server of an 11 year old game.

What is your mental defect? you choose to join it. you knew what you were joining. stop crying. this huge amount of crying is probably why they booted you from the world chat the first place :) you can always can try to start your own channel. i used the world chat fine without this nonsense . so people probably got really tired of you for some reason. and as the other guy said. got booted? use LFG or trade. enjoy.

ganjitsu wrote:Since world chat is controlled by a random person there is abuse of power. No one who plays on the server should be excluded from the community because of an immature channel owner.

World chat is used by almost every player on the server to buy and sell items, find groups, and chat. It's private server tradition for everyone to use a global channel called 'world'.
The current system of having it controlled by some random person is makes absolutely no sense.
World chat owner is a position of power on the server. Giving it to a random person for absolutely no reason is stupid. It ensures the power will be abused.
Saying world chat is a "private channel" and doing nothing to protect it doesn't change the fact that everyone uses it. Since everyone uses it there is a responsibility to maintain it with fairness. The server staff are denying this responsibility for no reason.

Words are flexible, because they represent the most mutable of all things, ideas. They change meaning in various contexts, and they absorb context into their meaning in the minds of those who use them and interpret them.
They can mean whatever the speaker or the listener want them to mean. The understanding is for the speaker and the listener to hammer out. This is vital to the process of communication.
There is often difficulty in this process when it is between only two people. In such difficult situations, any third party that advocates for one side or the other is likely to disrupt the process of coming to an understanding. To be constructive, a third party should instead mediate between the two points of view.
Any institution that tries to intervene in this process of communication by asserting that one point of view is correct is certainly malicious because it attempts to take the process out of the control of both the speaker and listener.
It attempts to remove the speaker's right to assert the meaning he intends, and it attempts to remove the listener's right to decide what the motives of the speaker are.
This is a grievous destruction of freedom.

People have been going on about "hate speech" and other reasons why people should be banned from public channels and from the server for saying things in whispers and group chats.

"Hate speech" is a DANGEROUS idea that everyone with a brain should be fighting with tooth and nail.
It is used by authorities to whitewash people's thoughts and words. It is an insidious enemy to freedom.
There is nothing wrong with having a general opinion about a group of people based on race, religion, or anything else.
Race and religion are complex traits of person, and there are myriad other traits that are associated with these other than "the color of a person's skin" or "what day they go to church".
It's absolutely fair to have an opinion on any of these traits and it's absolutely necessary that people to not face systematic discrimination for having or expressing a negative opinion on anything at all.

THERE MUST NEVER BE EXCEPTIONS TO THE RULE OF FREEDOM OF SPEECH, REGARDLESS OF THE FEELINGS OF SOME PEOPLE

Any authority that tries to limit a person's speech has revealed itself to be evil. It destroys the freedom of the speaker and steals freedom from those hearing the speaker. The power to judge a speaker should ALWAYS lie with the listeners. Systematic judgement of self-expression steals power from the people and is an insidious threat to the freedom of all. Doing so takes the power of the speaker away to explain his meaning and takes the power of the listener away to decide the meaning of the speaker. It is a grievous injury to the freedom to all.
It is a statement that the people are too stupid or otherwise incapable of forming their own ideas and that they must be told what to do. It is a statement that what the people think does not matter and that for society to continue they must be told what to think.
This is a certain implication that society is acting against the people's interests.

Society in general believes that if they convince a majority of the population that "hate speech" is evil that they can justify silencing people who express themselves in this way, or DO WORSE TO THEM.

Everyone should realize that the freedom to express one's self is a prerequisite for the freedom to live one's life.

It important that people express their thoughts. This is a vital mechanism for obtaining new points of view of their ideas. People who express their thoughts get feedback that helps them determine the extent of the validity of their thoughts.
People should not be afraid to express any thought, because there is no thought that does not deserve to be examined. If a person thinks something honestly and can attribute reason to the thought in some detail, it is vital to show the person respect by responding to their thoughts in a reasoned manner. This is the only way to come to an understanding.
If you don't want to come to an understanding with a person, then why would you talk to them at all? To do so disrespects yourself as much as them, assuming you value your time somewhat.
Therefore to argue against a person while asserting no reason is insanity, for it is insane to disrespect one's self.
Arguing without reason is mindless self-indulgence. It is the spread irrationality. It is the spread of death. It should be dealt with in a harsh, reasoned manner.

yee bruh i aint read everything you said cuz im too lazy to read it all but I agree wit you bruh context is always overlooked for some odd reason

Exactly.

If I walked up to a guy in a bar and said to him that I hoped his wife and kids were brutally raped and murdered in front of him, then I would expect to get the living shit kicked out of me.

If anyone thinks the right to free speech should protect them in such a circumstance then they are fucking braindead. The right to free speech ends when you violate someone else's right to not be verbally abused. This isn't some idea the authorities have dreamed up to keep us all in line, this is basic human decency.

In short, if you're using freedom of speech to excuse saying heinous shit to people then you're a cunt.
