Vanilla vs TBC.

I would like to start a debate.
We all know (or almost all) that Vanilla and TBC were the good old times, since Wotlk was when the game got casualized. Even with that, Wotlk still had probably the best lore in the game, and kept the old mechanics game (talking about classes and some). But Wotlk brought terrible things that we all know as Heirlooms, achievements, free gear, LFX (looking for dungeon tool) etc etc...
Focusing on the thread... What do you think its better? Vanilla or TBC? What brought you better feelings and why?
Vanilla. The great wild world , dangerous, everything got time, everything was too valuable, pvp ranks...
TBC. Still a vanilla-feelings keeper, but more updated, classes more funny and versatile, the great times of twinking, arenas ....

well since i have played now vanilla for almaost 6 years (and TBc hardly more then the retail TBC) I'd say vanilla.
but TBC has IMO better stuff to offer then vanilla (better designed dungeons for instance) but it also had some major flaws.
as a person who only plays paladin, it sucked for me that basically all paldin set styles in TBC did not suit my taste. in special the season2(whcih i wore most time in TBC retail) was 100% eyecancer.
Also the zone design in outland was rather... meh, in special netherstorm, also a clear case of eyecancer.
and let's not forget the spacegoats, and the wildest and most savage members of the horde, the bloodelves.
If TBC had not such a great gameplay, IMO better then vanilla. i would not even think about playing it again.

What's wrong with achivements ? The worst thing Wrath brought was the dungeon finder, not achivements.

everything.
the only achivement that WoW should have is your gear.

I honestly think I prefer TBC. I was thinking about this yesterday while I was leveling. If the makers of Nostalrius made a TBC server I'd be all over it. I love vanilla for the sense of adventuring and the feeling that you're just a person in a big world. TBC, however, introduced a lot of diversity to classes but you still had to be good to use them. I had a resto druid that could 1v1 anyone (resto/Insect Swarm ftw) and a warrior that could just wreck people (I was one of a few elite that knew about stance dancing to get 2 charges and macros to spell reflect with a 2h). I felt like you could give your toon a lot of personality by your play style whereas by WotLK it was all just formulated and everyone played everything the same.
I was heartbroken a couple of days ago when I got rocked by a mage and checked when I got spell reflect and I saw it was a level 64 spell. /wrists.

Old good wow:
Vanilla = "alpha", old good version of wow, but half-baked, crude.
TBC = polished and updated, better more balanced version of vanilla + new climatic expansion. All class specs are useful.
Wotlk = some cons and pros, most "neutral" intermediate, not so old dated and not modern like new wow.
New shitty wow:
cata, mop, wod = casual, easy, no leveling, no lore, dead sociality, only endgame. Different game.

TBC, but I do don't mind Vanilla one bit. Otherwise I wouldn't be playing. I'm just more of a fan of the difficulty that TBC provided. Vanilla content is honestly not hard for the most part, but it's not something I fault Vanilla at, it's just my reasoning for liking TBC more.

I really love old vanilla with a passion, especially the DUNGEONS, raids with increasing challenge/gate, the variety of gear that wasn't just stats, and the honor system. TBC had this as well as stated, more polished. My only dislike with TBC was how arena was implemented and what honor turned out to become alongside. Still very good in all respects though.

TBC! Absolutely amazing climate incl. draeneis and blood elves lore. Many glowing places and objects with specific music/sounds type, characteristic just for tbc. Karazhan, jawelcrafting etc etc.. The only bad thing are season sets and arenas, best gear only for rating, if someone doesn't like arenas but only bgs and duels/world pvp, he's in ass.
