Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

so i just got a new PC build.

GTX 970 4gb vidoe card
I7 4790k processor
16gb ram
new samsung monitor running at 3840 x 2160

problem im having is that im only getting about 24 FPS, i feel it should be ALOT higher than that.

if i drop it to 1920 x 1080 the FPS goes up to about 50 or so, still think it should be able to rock more FPS than that.

any info or suggestions would be awesome, thanks

The game was released back in 2006. Newer graphic cards always has issues with older games due to their driver not being optimized to run the game. Here are some things that I personally use on other games. They might or might not work, but it's worth trying. First update your graphic card drivers, it might instantly fix the issue. If that doesn't work, play around in the compatibility settings.

Turn on compatibility mode: "Windows XP (Service pack 2)"
Check mark "Reduces colour mode (16-bit (65536 colour)"
Check mark "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings"
Check mark "Run this program as an administrator"

The settings above is what I use for all old games that I run on my GTX 980. These settings might not work for you, so fiddle around with them a bit.
