finally i can return to my "home"-gerne.
but i really hope they gonna focus on micro as they did in Wc3. I'd really hate if they made it like starcraft and focus on the macro.

I'm not sure if WC4 made by modern Blizzard is a good thing.

Far from confirmed but the article does say "the RTS team may indeed revisit the Warcraft franchise". I do hope they revisit it. Warcraft 3 is one of my all time favorite games and served as the perfect usher into WoW. While I do have reservations about the current Blizzard teams ability to do future stories justice (as AverageJoe mentioned above) I would welcome the attempt with open arms.

Many people will say that WoW is running out of stories and lore to use and that a Warcraft 4 game would be able to inject some much needed story lines into the MMO. I disagree with this a bit. There is still so much story left in WoW to use. The real issue is that they wrapped up most of the big flashy parts from Warcraft 3, so casual fans who happened to play that game may not see beyond and around those stories. There is still much left in Azeroth that is ripe for the picking.

Regardless of the direction Blizzard takes WoW and/or Warcraft, it will be a busy next 3-5 years for them. The Legion expansion will probably release next year as well as the Warcraft movie (unless it's pushed back). Overwatch will drop before either of those. Add in the Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm expansions/updates. And don't forget Starcraft and Diablo. Also, Blizzard has already stated (before Warlords) that there will more than likely be 3 or 4 more expansions, so after Legion we can expect at least 1 more and possibly 2. After all that is likely when we see a Warcraft 4. Hopefully the movie does well and we get a sequel out of that, too!

You forget however... Blizzard doesn't have to use our timeline. It can be a continuation of the WoD Timeline.

Boom. Loophole created, anything can happen because ALTERNATE TIMELINE!

i really stopped careing what happens in the Warcraft Lore the moment Bloodelves joined the horde.
I just want to see a Warcraft RTS back in the Esport because the Warcraft III esport matches were really epic to watch, starcraft matches don't appeal to me as much as the Warcraft III ones.

To easily summarize why any argument against BElves in the Horde is utter tripe..

The Forsaken helped them recover and defeat the Elf who betrayed them and allowed the Scourge to destroy Quel'Thelas. Meanwhile the Alliance had Garithos and his murder happy campaign against them THEN Night Elves had infiltrated Quel'Thelas for information, so they looked bad. Sylvanas then fought to get the Blood Elves into the Horde because they are essentially kin to her and she felt almost responsible for their plight. Because of this, Thrall allowed them to get into the Horde. Just like the Forsaken it's an Alliance of Convenience, which is kind of why Lor'Themar was willing at all to enter negotiations with the Alliance.

Also. Caring more about Esports scene instead of a good story or mechanics or units or anything else... yeah, no.

Ehh if they do make a Warcraft 4, I'd kinda hope it takes place in the future (like 30 or so more years). It just seems really off to have so much happen in such a short span of history.

They could also go the Elder Scrolls route and have all there games take place hundreds of years apart.

or simply declare WoW (or the RTS game) non canon
