Let's diagnose bow!

by Böw » Wed Oct 28, 2015 1:18 am

I get told daily that people believe that there's something wrong with my brain and I know something is wrong with it, but I don't know what it is and doctors are full of shit so lets play a game.

Tell me what you think it is based on what you've seen me say around the forums or in game.

Please no flame war children.

Also I will answer any questions if you need to get information

Just browsing the forums, haven't posted too much here.
This is also the first post I've read from you, so I glanced at your post history.

At a glance I'd say you're an internet denizen type, somewhat like myself.
You're social skills have been heavily developed using the internet, I say this for several reasons, but ultimately its because how you frame your posts in response to others, with pictures, with depth regarding status, its a kind of gossip that is typical in social situations.
You don't see this kind of interaction online unless its from a younger generation, mainly because there is more of a disparity between the two socially for the older generations.
Adding that to the post history shows me someone who is reading into society and status in this game way more than they need to, and its definitely causing friction because someone elses 4 hours of playing a game is potentially your entire thought process, you're thinking about what everybody is doing when you really should just be playing the game.

TD;LR You sir need to get out more.

I would Diagnose Bow with a newly documented condition of "Internet isolation disorder." The Internet isolation disorder (IO) feeds of the anonymity of the internet. Where one can be as grand as one can imagine. Often times in on-line games it manifest itself in the player feeling he or she is a god among mortals. Any slight against the player is seen as an offense of the grandest magnitude and it must be noted for the world to know.

Typically the IO sufferer would claim he/she isn't offended and post on the forums to help other mortals understand his plight. However its an underhanded attempt to smear the would be offenders and it quickly degenerates -often at the hands of the IO sufferer- into rambles and stories of grandeur. In vanilla servers the IO sufferers taken an advanced stage, I dub the "Vanilla complex."

The vanilla complex sufferer quickly dives into the vanilla world with knowledge past down by former players. The quick mastery of old knowledge and simplistic game design of 2006 leads the Vanilla complex (VC) player to feel the players of old were inferior and it further inflates the engorged ego.

He or she will quickly demand the attention of the entire community, being as he is a god in a world only he/she can master with such ease.

In short BOW suffers from general Internet Isolation Disorder with advanced stages of Vanilla Complex.
To date the most effective treatment as been heavy doses of vitamin D (acquired from prolonged sun exposure), removal of all access to social media and any form of forums, and contact with human beings outside of his/her comfort zone*.

*The comfort zone has been observed (in 94% of VC sufferers) to being a carefully constructed fort of comfort blankets forced stiff with semen cement.
