And they can shove it at this point. We have our server here. I should mention that Blizzard doesn't even care about their franchises anymore. Once SC 3/3 is done, it's going to be nothing but F2PMOBACASHSHOPWTSCRAP from now on. The only reason WoW is even still running is because it still has enough subs to justify the trouble. Blizzard has ran off or ignored anyone that understood MMOs or cared about the game a long time ago. Now it's just a relic from a previous generation being sucked on by money grubbing leeches before its rotting corpse finally dries up for good. The people that own it now(ACTIVISION) couldn't care less about it, and anyone that did left it years ago.
The reality is that MMOs as a whole are just done. The industry, including Blizzard, has moved on. It was a popular fad for a while, and now that time has passed. The market is now in F2PMOBAs, not big budget titles or MMOs, making Blizzard smart for investing in this change. You're not going to see another good MMO for a very long time. They are all just 3D arcades/social networks/cash shops now, made to appeal to the laziest skilless most impatient players, which doesn't make for a good game with any kind of longevity.
I disagree with everything you say. Even with WoD being the worst expansion, it was still better then most other MMO expansions. Pandaria was bloody amazing and Legion looks great too with tons of new features and good changes. With movie and expansion coming out next summer I can see huge influx of players in WoW in 2016.
As for MMOs as a whole "done", I think they hardly even started. We are seeing just a dawn of it and with VR revolution on the horizon MMOs will evolve into virtual worlds from theme parks they are today. Also there are plenty good MMOs coming soon: Lost Ark, Lineage Eternal, Star Citizen, TC Division, Tree of Savior, Dragon Dogma Online.
