Classic DAOC is probably my second favorite MMO ever (Vanilla WoW is #1 of course).

The controls and UI kinda suck, but if you can get past that, the game has tons of depth.

Open beta is starting tomorrow:

Maybe the gameplay can compensate for the N64 art.

Although I might play it just because it reminds me of Everquest classic.

Edit, just realized this isn't the "new DAOC", but a classic private server I guess? Although I remember the "new DAOC" looking similar.

When it launched in 2001 it didn't look bad. But yeah, it doesn't have an art style like WoW that ages very well.

The PvP/RvR system makes up for it though. Plus I love the class system. Each realm has unique classes, for a total of 39.

Yeah, this is the classic DAOC, and a private server.

Like WoW with Cataclysm, DAOC released an expansion (Trials of Atlantis), that was regarded among many players as the ruination of the game. So most older players seek to play the classic DAOC.
