Leveling advice for a trash-tier vet

by Cruel_Ultimatum » Wed Sep 16, 2015 5:12 pm

I have absolutely no problem with end game content. I consider myself to be pretty good at PvP. I know boss mechanics and have countless macros for every situation, and can rotate my abilities with the incredibly average of them.
Buuuuuuut.....dear lord can I not level. Eleven years I've been playing, and l've always sucked at leveling. Whether it be my short attention span and inability to resist completing every quest in my spell book, I'm just all together bad at leveling. I always make it to end game, but the journey there is longer than most peoples'. Any advice to help me level a lot faster? Eighty hours on average to hit level 25 for me.

Besides following a guide grind mobs between quest givers to quest locations and back. If you don't feel like following a guide the only other option is pick up every quest in a hub you can and optimize a path for completing every quest in one trip. Plus only ever do a dungeon once for the quests. If you are below par for levels compared to quests completed find a spot appropriate for you class and grind out a few levels. It may not be to some people the "most fun way" to level but it is efficient.

Download the addon "VanillaGuide". Complete 1-60 leveling guide with an efficient questing path.

Uh...what the fuck are you doing that it's taking you over 3 days /played just to hit 25? I'm almost 46 and I'm at 3days 18hours, and I'm not particularly good at leveling either.

Grind, grind, grind. Kill for quest, dont do travel quest that take you too far. Kill when traveling. Kill kill kill. It takes mental effort and would explain why i have issues lvling an alt. The journey is one that will have memories, but has growing pains as well.

Kill everyone between you and the place you're going. Especially before mounts, doing this will save you so much time if you're just grinding between quest giver and the area you're tasked to find X mob or items to gather. Sure, it takes time to kill the mobs, but if you're running from place to place and there are mobs that give you XP in the way, might as well take em out. It also nets you a good amount of extra cash if you pick everything up and vendor it.

Yeah, Questie + VanillaGuide is the best combo.

VanillaGuide will tell you where to go and what quests to pick up, and Questie will mark on your map where you need to go to complete the quests.
