Questions on Guilds

Hello! When I go to register a guild name, I am getting a constant message saying guild name is reserved for any name i put in to the system. Is there a reason for this? I come from a pretty long standing community, and we were hoping to get started on here with our name and brand

Any thoughts or suggestions would be great! Thanks!

If you happen to be on the PvP server its possible that the variations of your old guild are all taken. The server has 4 times the players on than a full retail server and stays this full all day. Sometimes this reaches up to 12,000 players at once. This means a lot more names will be taken. You may need to use a special character or two to get around this, it is unfortunate, but that's how it is.

You can try searching http://realmplayers.com/ too see which names aren't taken (This will only show guilds that have had players online within 30 days). Just make sure that you choose the correct server, "Nostalrius PvE" for the PvE server, and "Nostalrius" for the PvP server. This will at least allow multiple guild members to search for a possible replacement name.

thanks for the reply!, Sadly no dice, 0 people/ guilds are using the name. Is it possible to reserve a name and then just sit on it?

Yeah, the Guild Master will be "dethroned" after being offline for 90 days. The first person in the guild to log on will recieve Guild Master of it, but if its just parked by one person it will probably just sit there. What I would do is open a ticket asking a GM if they can disband a dead guild for you (If the player has been offline for months or something). Not sure if this is something Nostalrius will do, but it can't hurt to try!

While I couldn't get a response from the gm I contacted(I'm sure he/she is far busier with other peoples issues) I did find a work around, we will use our initials instead. thank you for your help! It was much appreciated!
