Help! Can't make a character!

Hi Folks, Just installed 1.12.1 OSX on my mac and all works fine up to making a character when it says
'Character Creation Failed' whatever I try. It puts me in a test realm - giving me no other option - and if I try a different realm the program crashes.
Any advice greatly appreciated!

Try deleting the WTF-folder inside your WoW-folder and see if that helps.

All non-Nostalrius staff must connect to the "Nostalrius Begins" realm. Connecting to any other realm (Test Realm - IsVV2, Test Realm 1, 2, 3, etc.) will either instantly disconnect you or prevent you from creating characters and entering the world.

First error: "Disconnected from server." Follow the steps in the solution to change your realm from test realms over to Nostalrius Begins.

If you do this and try to connect to Nostalrius Begins, does the game still crash? If so, that could indicate a broken or corrupted WoW installation. You could try uninstalling and reinstalling WoW again.
