Human leveling guide for a group of 4?

Not sure if this is the right forum, but since it's for "getting started", I feel like it has something to do with beginning. Anyways, 3 my friends and me formed a group in wow as humans (so we are in the same starting zone) and whilst we were leveling, we noticed that we were leveling really, really slow. I know 1x exp rate has to do with this but the thing is, around us are people who start the quests we started but they are higher level than us. For example, we started Goldshire on level 5 while people that go solo were level 7 (this is only an example) and what happens is that when we are out of quests, future quests are higher level than we are, another example is that we are level 7 while Westbrook Garrison is for level 10s which means we are 3 levels behind. Anyways, enough about context, does anybody have any advice or a guide to help the 4 of us to level properly?

Sharing xp with your party will give you less from the content, but don't forget to do all the quests over by the farms in Elwynn, and by level 10 you can already go to WF. Being in a group will help a lot when it comes time to do dungeons though. There are so many zones that you can't run out of quests. Explore the world.

Questing as a group for long periods of time? Yeah, my advice is don't. The reason you are below everyone else is because you are splitting experience. If you want to level together but not be slow about it just be near each other without being in a group. The problem arises when you have to do gathering quests, meaning you will be competing for the same resources resulting in further delay. Even running dungeons isn't a good idea as those also give bad experience unless you have quests for them.

My best advice would be to go your own ways, but get back together for group or challenging quests.

It doesn't matter if you're a couple levels behind.. you've got three others to help you!

Just quest together and do a normal progression.
