It is very strange that you experience problems with a nvidia card. Are you using thé open source driver "nouveau" are did you install the proprietary driver ?

If I remember correctly, Ubuntu ask you to install the proprietary one at the first launch, but by default it uses the open source one which is pretty bad.

I'm on Linux Mint right now. It's been working really well.
Basically no lag at all with the proprietary drivers, one thing however is driving me insane.
At the lower end of the screen (when I play WoW) i'm getting a lot of screen tearing.

It's looking really ugly when I move my character around.
Not sure what could cause this tbh. Gonna see if It gets better using some other drivers.

edit: I managed to find that it's caused by the vsync, so I disabled it.
Now I got a lot more lagg instead...

I have the same issue. Maybe we should play with nvidia settings to tweak it.

I've had WoW running fine with CrossFire through Linux Mint might try it again this time around, but on a legit Linux box not on a virtual box or anything like that. Also, wow, them GTX 660s for Linux sound like overkill. If I had that card I'd probably just stick to Windows to be safe, my desktop has a GTX 650 Ti SSC.

Glad it's working good for you :D

I can't stand the graphical glitches I got so I installed windows next to linux..
Been testing the Windows 10 preview at the moment and it's great!

The only thing that keeps me distanced from linux is games.. if it werent for them, i'd be running Ubuntu only.

It's working pretty fine with Wine on Kali Linux (Debian based) with 4GO RAM and a 512mo graphic card

thx for the config.wtf optimisation settings !
