it is advised to download a new client when you are encountering issues!

the links in the beginner's guide are not hosted by Nostalrius so yes they can go offline..
I will remove the links.

Myself and others I've been bringing here have had an issue with the torrent, when we try to follow the initial steps and extract it into Program Files (86) it just doesn't work and aborts, due to being denied access. So we've had to messily extract them into our downloads folder. What's the cause/problem with this?

Hello everyone.
I tried to join Nostalrius today. I downloaded the client, according to your guide. When I tried to log in with my account, it says that the information is not valid. I then tried my brothers account and it says unable to connect. I tried using both login.nostalrius.org and login2.nostalrius.org in the realmlist. I deleted the WDB folder to no avail. I tried using 1.12.1 clients from 3 different sources (including the ones listed here) and nothing works. I have turned off my firewall and it does not help. I deleted everything else that's wow related on my computer. I checked the config in the WTF folder and the correct realmlist is there. Does anyone have any idea what might be the problem?

I know you are a forum mod and are doing a damn good job around here, but please contact me first if you want to change anything, since I put a lot of work and thought into this thread. Ofcause you have every right, but if I might kindly ask you to do so, maybe you could consider it. Also I see no problem with the clients (despite advertising warez, that are not hosted at any Nost server itself - this is the only reason for change that might oocur to me).

Can you please discribe your problem a bit better? Did you have to extract your downloaded content into your download folder and could not put it into "Program Files (x86)"? This might be caused by limited (no) admin rights or something like that. Could you extract them into the download folder an then copy them afterwards? This would be errors that should not be in connection with the torrent. I send you an PM with alternative download if you want to try that.

/Edit: There might also be an issue with disc space...

Hi I'm new to downloading this private server and I to used the torrent link but when extracting it fails due to access denied messages, I have a screen shot for you that may help identifying the problem :)

Damn...I have been at this for 2 hours now...trying to relive those vanilla times, but idk if this stress is worth it lol.
Okay so I downloaded everything so many times, followed to 4 steps perfectly but there must be something im missing, because when I try to play, i will click on the WoW icon app (like I should), but it just goes to WoD blizz live version.

and also- When you try to create an account for the game, it doesn't send a verification email.

I know this sounds demanding but I REALLY want to play 1.12 again, so please get back to me soon:)

The WDB folder that you are told to delete re-creat itself each time you launch the game, is there anyone with knowledge that can help? *EDIT*

Sounds as if something is wrong with the account you created. You mustn't use your forum account but create an account on their website (and maybe wait a little while, before it's ready). Maybe try to make an new account otherwise...

I advise three things:
1) Create a folder called "WoW" in "Programm Files (x86)" and use winrar to extract into this folder.
2) Create a folder called "WoW" in "Download"-Folder and use winrar to extract into this folder.
3) Use alternative download (I PM you a link)

I PM you a link WITHOUT need for torrent software.

1) Start "WoW.exe" in the folder you created. E.g. "C:\...\Program Files (x86)\(1.12.1) - Classic Client". There is no auto link generated, hence whenever you start you old link on the desjtop it will start the retail client.
2) No more verification Mails send - it works without them.
3) The recreation of WDB folder is supposed to happen. You delete it to remove some old "configs" (simplified) and then receive new configs from the server. This is why it's recommended.
