To add to this, I highly recommend running the game in compatibility mode for Windows XP Service Pack 2. I am using Windows 8.1 and this compatibility mode works wonderfully.

Now because I like to click things, and I'm not all that great with a computer, how would I go about getting off of a test realm? I am able to log in perfectly fine, but I just get disconnected as it's well.. A test server.

Since downloading and patching the old OSX builds on an Intel mac on 10.7+, Here is a small workaround that helps:

Download the Vanilla WoW torrent, or extract the stuff from the Nostalrius installer.
Download this package of .app files from https://mega.co.nz/#!WQBxEZAD!MTrrNLf_l ... FWdZwpuFcM

Put them in the same folder as WoW.exe. Then just launch WoW Classic.app and you should be good. Been playing wonderfully since I set it up.

Last night there wasn't an Installer, so I was using the torrent and this patch to get myself going.

I might download the installer and make a new installer for OSX for Nostalrius.

Hey, for those that want a native OSX setup. Here is a zip with the .app files (.exe equivalent for OSX) that you can put into the main folder, and just run and it will work. I have personally tested this and have been playing in Teldrassil since last night.

I don't know how well it will work with the Installer, since those .bin files mess it up for usage on OSX, but if you download the Vanilla WoW 1.12.1 torrent, and just plop these in, it will work. Its how I got it working last night before the new installer was added.

Its posted on mega. I don't take credit for the patching or anything of these files, I just found them after hours of searching to get files that worked on 10.7+ Intel macs.

Hope that helps someone. If I have some more time, I might make a native package for OSX that can be used like an Installer for OSX for Mac people.
