Vanilla Noob: Class Question

Hey all. Downloading the game right now! I started playing WoW during BC and never really could stick to a toon. part of that was my age at the time part of it was limited playtime.

I'm probably your stock WoW player...playing off and on during every expansion but never fully comitting.

I really want to experience Vanilla WoW.

My question is...Which class is good for a player who will feel the challenge coming from newer WoW patches?

A class that solos well and doesn't have too tough of a time doing harder quests.

Also, with having to buy skills and legit save up for a mount, what's the best way to earn gold effciently as I level?

Thanks for the replies!

Hunter or Warlock.
You're welcome.

Hunter and warlock are the best solo classes in vanilla and they can solo harder quests easily.

As for earning money you can go for skinning/mining/herbalism where herbalism and mining are the ones that makes most money at 60.

I can also recommend that you only buy the skills you use to save money and if you go for warlock you get your free Mount aswell.

But with Skinning, you can ninja loot Devilsaur Leather, which is worth 13g per, and there are 16 Devilsaurs per hour, assuming they're killed the moment they spawn.

vanilla leveling really isn't that hard, you'd probably be happier finding a class you like rather then one thats easy to level.
