Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Hey everyone so this might sound kinda stupid but I am trying to do quests that I haven't done since Vanilla originally was released and i'm trying to get help from my guild but nobody is really talking about the game or has no interest in talking about it so I was thinking i'd try general chat but I can't seem to get into it. I know guild chat is obv. /g and say is /s just as in the current WoD but when I try using /1 for general it doesn't do anything. Am I using the wrong command? Everything else seems to work alright just not general chat.

relog and/or check your addons

Logging out and logging back in (Sometimes more than once) tends to fix it.

You can also try /leave 1 (Or any # channel for that matter) and /join 1 to see if it helps, but that's usually hit or miss. Also try right-clicking the General tab > Join New Channel > and disabling/re-enabling General from there.
