How much can you have an account?

by ReBurn » Fri Jun 12, 2015 7:04 pm

Hello, excuse me for my English, I use Google tranlit.

I am wondering if I can play simultaneously from two accounts?

I want to create another character but in a separate account that can be played simultaneously.

There's nothing that I can see to say it's forbidden to have multiple accounts in the TOS: https://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8

Just don't use the accounts at the same time because that's multiboxing and will get you banned.

I understood you. Bad that you can not simultaneously play two accounts.

Why do people keep saying you can't play 2 characters? It's allowed, but there are stipulations to it.

Multiboxing refers to playing multiple separate characters simultaneously. This can either be achieved by using multiple separate machines to run the game or by running multiple separate instances of the game. It is against the rules to /follow level characters, run dungeons or raids with multiple characters, PvP with multiple characters, etc. There are only a few situations where multiboxing is allowed in Nostalrius, e.g.:

  • Trading items between accounts.
  • Professions, as long as no farming is involved;
    i.e. You can have two characters ingame simultaneously for crafting, enchanting, or trading purposes.

I think that depends on people's definition of "play." "Play" can mean different things to different people. Some people define it as simply logging on two characters simultaneously doing nothing banking, trading, enchanting, or chilling in a capital city. Some people define it as logging on two characters simultaneously and being actively out in the world questing, grinding, or PvPing.

Viper's clarification on multiboxing defines 'play' as closely as it gets though. I don't think there is a grey area to "This can either be achieved by using multiple separate machines to run the game or by running multiple separate instances of the game." with the situations that a single person can only do if they have separate instances of the game running and being controlled by one person.

Situations outside of the ones listed seem like they can be deemed as breaking the rule as it states situations allowed rather than the situations disallowed.
