Hi guys, how are you?

I've being a WoW player since Vanilla, this is going to be great for me hehe
But I have a question: I just moved to Germany, and here, piracy is a very serious issue.

Do I need a VPN connection to download and play?

Regards
Felipo

Technically the vanilla 1.12.1 client shouldnt be illegal I think. It's the running on server-side that often gets into trouble. Also, blizzard dont care at all about vanilla-servers as they consider it a completely different game than retail and thus not competition.

Moral of the story. Download the client anywhere, dont worry, nothing will happen.

You cannot get charged unless you actually upload. The client downloads are not known to be tracked by Blizzard's lawyer, so even if you torrented the client, you wouldn't have to worry about receiving a letter.

You do need to be careful with movie/music/TV show torrents though, especially HBO and Warner Bros. have their popular content tracked and you will receive a letter ordering you to pay ~600€ or go to court with them.
