Wanting to play WoW but your OS is to complicated to work or the game isn't supported? Well luckily I have came to this website to help you along with lots of others on the Forums.

Preparation:
Download Wine - To download Wine you can do two things.
1. Go to the Software Center and look up "Wine'
2. Go to your terminal by holding CTRL+ALT+T and type in sudo apt-get install wine.

Make sure you download the WoW version you want to use, for this server it would be 1.12, Ubuntu should have a built in Torrent down loader called Transmission.

Make sure you can run WoW.

Make sure your connected to Internet or this process will not work. Thanks now lets get to the real fun stuff. :D

Time to Download WoW Baby
Downloading WoW on Ubuntu seems hard but it is actually very very very very easy and simple. Most people use Crossover or PlayOnLinux but I recommend Wine. The only problem with it is you have to usually launch programs from the Terminal. But PlayOnLinux will install Wine for you to download games like Halo:Combat Evolved or Call of Duty. Lets get into the installation.
1. Put the WoW folder in your Home Directory then extract it to where ever you want. (I usually put it in the downloads folder when extracted cause its easier to access.")
2. Make sure it is in the folder you put it in just in case it didn't extract correctly.
3. Open up your Terminal and put in the command "cd (where ever you put the wow file/", then ls so you can see all your files. You should see your WoW.exe file or something related to that. After that you will type "wine wow.exe" and it should run the WoW program for you.

What the Terminal should look like
User@User-Ubuntu-14: .cd Downloads/
User@User-Ubuntu-14:~/Downloads$ ls
434_mini OptiFine_1.8.7_HD_U_D6.jar
434_mini.7z steam_latest.deb
crossover_14.1.4-1.deb TechnicLauncher.exe
MCIv1.2.zip wine-1.7.47.tar.bz2
MoP Instaler.exe World-of-Warcraft-Setup-enUS.exe
npp.6.8.Installer.exe WoW.mfil
User@User-Ubuntu-14:~/Downloads$ wine World-of-Warcraft-Setup-enUs.exe

See? Its that simple. If you have any problems or questions be sure to PM me or just Reply here I'm glad to help.

Good post, sadly a bit too late for me. I ended up installing GRUB and partitioning my HDD (using an ubuntu liveboot usb), and just use a Windows partition for the game instead. I'll provide some useful links on how to do this later when I'm not on my phone.
