how to save gold for lvl 40 mount?

well i am a lvl 16 priest atm and have about 1-2g.
my professions are herb and tailoring.

should i only learn "important" skills at the class trainer to have enough money for the mount when i hit 40?
at the moment i sell every herb at the AH, and some green stuff.

are there item (bags, cloaks, herbs, ,,,) which are cheap to produce/easy to find - and good for selling?

If you can leave certain skills out, don't buy them. Bags can be a source of income. Get an auction house addon and sell green items / herbs / other useful drops. Might take a while, but stuff usually sells.

get auctioneer and auctionator or aux and start scanning ASAP. sell any and all BOEs on the AH. if you do this you will easily have enough by 40.

I only started using the AH on a regular basis around the mid 30s and easily had enough.
