Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

hello there, i am new to nostalrius.
on live server in wod, i have many 100s and i generally enjoy all the classes of vanilla. i was leaning towards Pve to main and Pvp here and there. i was thinking rogue, but i heard theres an overwhelming population of rogues on nostal. i enjoy melee and ranged dps, what do you reccomend? looking for a good class (not one that hits like a potato) but also fun class to play with a variety of spells not just 2 spells/abilities that are worth a damn. (i was thinking hunter since i main one in pvp in wod, but i am more than happy to make another class u guys reccommend, just wana make the right choice so when i grind out to 60, im happy with my choice, and don't just want to make new toons over and over till i find the right class).

Well if you enjoy dps you should probably go with the safest bets; rogue, mage, warlock or hunter. Wouldn't want to get shoe-horned into a non-dps role after picking a hybrid. ;P
Then again I haven't played long enough to see to what degree hybrid classes are shoe-horned into non-dps roles, but better safe than sorry.
If it's anything like it was back in vanilla expect to have to heal in end game if you pick druid, priest, paladin, shaman or tanking if you pick a warrior.

mages and warlock are literally spamming the same spell non stop in raids

like the person above me said, hybrids are required to heal in raids, although I saw some raids take shadowpriests now that the debuff limit was increased

warriors are overpopulated, I think it would be hard to find a spot as fury (not sure)
rogue overpopulated too, but look fun to play

I would suggest hunter, but if you're dedicated I'm sure you will find spots for rogues and warriors

If Alliance Warlock, be ready to get really annoyed at Undead OP racial WoTF when you try to Fear them in PvP. Blizztard loved their hordies back then and gave them pretty big crutches for PvP.

The other day I try to Cheap Shot an Orc Hunter... oh wait, that 25% stun resist! I forgot! Oops!

As if anyone cares what you puny alliance think! But yea, Horde racials are pretty good. :p
