Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Well i picked the gnome warlock class thinking i was able to use staff/wand right off the bat. Turns out i cant. I finally made it to ironforge to learn them at the staff trainer, but there is no option to learn them. So where can i learn them, and get a starting staff/wand?

You should have wand skill from level 1.

Staff skill is trained in Darnassus afaik. Maybe if you ask nice enough a mage can give you a portal
