Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

I am looking to start a char on nostalrius, and i was originally planning on joining the PVP server, but after researching it seems it has some major lag and other problems, as i dont have very good internet already, lag is a big problem for me, is PVE the better option then? I can sit out on the world PVP and just wait to do structured PVP, is that the best option?

I would transfer my 60 druid from PvP to PvE and even pay for it if I could.
