Post DW softcap 11%, 40ap or 1% hit choice?

Hello Elite number crunchers!

Apologies in advance if I get the 11% to hit softcap figure wrong. I'm actually a tank and not a dps.
For a warrior, the Ony head poses a gear choice difficulty question. It gives

Onyxia Tooth Pendant
Binds when picked up
Neck
+12 Agility
+9 Stamina
+10 Fire Resistance
Equip: Improves your chance to hit by 1%.
Equip: Improves your chance to get a critical strike by 1%.


and

Onyxia Blood Talisman
Binds when picked up
Trinket
+15 Fire Resistance
Equip: Increases your chance to parry an attack by 1%.
Equip: Increased Defense +8.
Equip: Restores 7 health per 5 sec.




however with upcoming ZG, you get the eye of hakkar necklace that
The Eye of Hakkar
Binds when picked up
Neck
Requires Level 60
Equip: Improves your chance to get a critical strike by 1%.
Equip: +40 Attack Power.


The ony tanking trinket is amazing, and fury warriors that ,depending on guild requirements needs to switch to tank gear would appreciate this as they won't be getting styleen's scarab for a long while.

So the question is, would you be a diehard fury that just wants to top the dps meter and just opt for force of will+counterattack, or forgo ony neck, and get the trinket and hakkar neckpiece?

As you will be be expected to Offtank quite often i BWL and even more in AQ. I would definitely go for the tank trinket since Hakkar neck does indeed replace onyxia neck. Regarding hit-cap, the special attacks cap is 8% and white hit cap is around 27% iirc.

Special cap is 8.6% with 300 weapon skill against a raid boss. The hard cap is around 24.6% if I recall.

Let's assume that you can't even reach the softcap. how valuable is 40ap, when compared to 1% hit?

Very roughly, after you get yellow-cap (8.6%) 1% hit is approximately worth around 20ap.

Unless you are over the soft crit cap, in which case 1 hit is worth ~2x the AP.

Soft crit cap is when you white attacks will never hit, only miss, crit, glance and dodge. It means you have more crit than you can use for your white attacks (but the extra crit is still helping your special attacks)

Edit: if you are a tank or think you may ever want to tank a raid, take the trinket. It's irreplaceable for tanking. You might use life giving gem instead on a few fights but for the most part you will use it for ever.
