Boss Attack Speed Always 2.5?

Boss Attack Speed Always 2.5?

by BnanaBoat » Thu Nov 12, 2015 6:28 am

High all,

I read in the prot sticky that bosses attack with a 2.5 swing timer. Is that true of all bosses? Because if that is the case, why do people rush for 440 defense when they can, in theory, thunder clap and keep imp shield block up 100% of the time (which makes you completely crit and crushing immune)?

Thanks

Edit: Okay besides enrages, I guess the boss parrying you increases their attack speed by 50%. So I guess that's that.

It really depends on your raid group.

In some guilds the healers are very good and spam a lot of healing so the tanks can take a crit once in a while. They won't die due to a crit until AQ40.

For most guilds, the healers are barely keeping the tanks alive so def cap makes things easier in MC and for most of BWL. These guilds pretty much require a def capped tank for nefarian because they can't shield block on warrior class calls.

Oh yeah, the class calls, another mechanic I forgot.

Thanks

He never said it wasn't possible to do Nef w/o 440 def... just that it would be more important for guilds that are weak on healing.

Various bosses are supposed to have different swing timers and on retail bosses could parry-haste for a delayed instant attack... but this server doesn't have some mechanics like that working correctly (read: at all).
