Rage Dumping

Rage Dumping

hello i am wondering what is the most efficient way to dump your excess rage between bt and whirlwind cooldowns. Ive heard three different perspectives, spamming heroic strike which causes overaggro, spamming cleave or spamming hamstring which causes normal hits. What is the best way to consume this rage?

Hamstring is by far the best way to dump rage horde side. If you're alliance then forget about it and just stick to spamming HS alone. If you reach a threat ceiling, then using too much HS will lower your potential DPS, so you would replace it with Cleave which doesn't cause any additional threat, for example on fights like nefarian or broodlord. I don't have experience playing alliance side, but I'd imagine that on vael you would have to chill on the dps even with salvation so you would throw in some cleaves too.

Hamstring can also proc hoj and the viskag proc. So while we dont have windfury I feel like it has its place even on alliance side.

When using heroic strike you aren't gaining rage from your yellow hits.

I have never played fury in a raid setting though so I cant comment on the math/parses.

Hamstring could have it's use alliance side with a proc weapon/HoJ, also if your crit is low the increase in flurry uptime can be substantial. But unless you have a mainhand like vis'kag/thrash/ironfoe you're only looking at 1-2% dps increase.

Yes. 100 based threat before modifiers. In comparison, HS is 145. Rank 9: 175.
