I think that nobody who has a minimal knowledge of this game is unaware that the overall tanking effectiveness between classes is warrior > druid > paladin > shaman > other things. However, vanilla raids have a pretty big window of error, much bigger than anything you get in retail mythic. You don't need maximum optimization to beat this game. If the people in a team want to try something else whether for challenge, curiosity, sympathy or any other reason, I think there's a good chance of doing it and pulling off the boss kill anyway.

I'm glad i'm horde and we don't have to cope with paladins trying to do anything else as being the most mana efficient healers.

I'm a MT warrior, yet know when to appreciate a classes strength.

I'd prefer to have a Pally OT in ZG for trash and make them first tank on bosses that need an OT taunt mechanic. But a geared one is far and few between.

The OP issue isn't group comp, it is execution.

Mind Control the caster and use the AoE ability.
