Resistance gear for Tanks.

Hello guys, I am new to the vanilla content and I want to know is it worth it to farm resistance gear for raids? I am talking about gear from reputation like Dark Iron Plate and etc..

You can do 10 of the raid bosses available in normal tank gear without any major hassle, but for Ragnaros, Fire Resistance gear becomes pretty much necessary.
