I've heard that they're the hardest class to level, and have pretty obnoxious downtime of eating/bandaging, and pretty slow killing at lower levels due to low rage gen. Exaggeration? Since the other server I played on was high rate (you could go 1-60 in like 8 hours /played), I didn't exactly get much of a feel for leveling.
Also a bit worried about tanking. I tried it out on another server, tanking a BRD run, and tanking 4-5 mobs was hell. Having to tab-target single target abilities on 5 mobs was obnoxious. It was just a scramble to keep taunting/sundering mobs that were running to the dps or healer. 1-2 mobs was easy, any more than 3 was a pain. Or was I just doing something horribly wrong?
1. Warrior is indeed the hardest, slowest class to level up and most expensive class to gear up properly in pre-raid gear. As a tank you can expect to spend up to 1k gold to get true pre-raid gear. As fury you can expect to spend 2-3k for true pre-raid gear since alot of that gear will last you up to, or even past AQ.
2. Most protection tanks I have encountered will also struggle as soon they need to tank more than 2-3 mobs so you are no alone in this. Tanking is the hardest role you can play in WoW that also brings the highest responsibility of guiding the group through dungeons, knowing and explaining tactics, assigning targets for CrowdControl etc.
To summerize: Warrior is the hardest, most challenging class and most expensive class to play but also the most fun in my experience. It is highly rewarding both in terms of challenging you as a player, and you will be showered in loot and you will always have instant access to all raids and dungeons basically. If you have a hard time tanking 2+ mobs, you dont need to. Just bring CC-heavy group and you will be fine. I however think that aoe-tanking is the most fun aspect of tanking so I never use CC unless absolutely necessary.
