Fastest way to level with a surplus of gold

Fastest way to level with a surplus of gold

by Numi » Wed Oct 28, 2015 7:41 pm

So I'm a random Warlock scrub who wants a warrior tank alt, as a Warlock I have an abundance of gold.

I want to use this gold to reduce the amount of time I have to spend while leveling.

What in your mind, is the most cost / time effective way of leveling a warrior to 60?

Buy good gear and weapons?
Buy good weapons only?
Pay for someone to mob tag with me?
Perhaps instance boosts to get the gear / XP at once?

Any tips / tricks would be great, I hate leveling with a passion as I'm spoiled leveling double warlocks, so anything you can do to cut down the time I have to spend on the warrior before he's 60 is important!

Whirwind axe, dense sharpening stones, first aid. You can try elixir of giants too and buy new gear every so often. Fastest way would be to mob tag though. Before 30 try to buy some blue weapons, and stack consumeables. At 42/3 you can get an executioner's and at 51 lord alexender's or a thrash blade a bit earlier than that.

I've looted a destiny which doesn't sell for anything, so planning for that at 52, since I'm a human.
Thank you for the tip about consumables!

You can always park him in an inn for some days so you only level on rested XP while you continue to play on your warlock in the mean time. Switch char every other day. Unless he needs to be 60 ASAP ofc.
If you get boosted in instances for which you have all queues that will help ofc.
Buy some gear in advance and mail it to the character. Let it sit in the mailbox or his bank.
Buy the highest level food you can use always.
Skip leveling profession except first aid.

Buy all the quest stuff you need beforehand, put it inside your same account bank alt, and just mail them as you need them. They instantly arrive if it it's the same account.

stormwind seasoning herb and lean wolf flanks, gooey spider cake or something like that in darkshire, and bronze tube, who can forget the bronze tube right?
murloc fins, great condor meats, great goretusk snout etc
frost oil and gychranomtromspellingwhatever, patterened bronze bracer, 4 buzzard wings for badlands
lesser bloodstone ore, silver bars, rethban ore or stuff like that.
all the various body parts needed for ROIDS, scorpok essay and stuff for blasted lands.

So you get into the quest hub, turn in all those stuff at once for huge xp boost, then you can choose to grind or do kill quest and move on.

Troll's blood potion is insane for health regen, and bring a lot of FAP(the expensive ones) and invuln potions depending on who you'll encounter in PVP because warriors are walking honor, and a graveyard run is downtime.

At level 50 when you can get elemental sharpening stones, you'll be a god.

Destiny is shit due to the low damage range that mortal strike/bloodthirst would use.

Flurry is also a better buff the slower the weapon is.

To your OP, all of the above. Potions, such as greater agil, of the giants, stones, greater def potion, troll blood potion - super cheap. Buy scrolls from ah for stam and armor.

Mob tagging is always fastest, but not always available.
Pay for instance run through when you have the quest for it. If you plan on tanking at 60, not experiencing the low level rage starvation tanking may gimp you later adding a learning curve you may struggle with.

Also firey weapon enchant as you go, much cheaper at low levels as you swap/upgrafe frequently and it procs A LOT. Crusader perhaps starting with WW axe if you get it at 30. After that go for Stoneslayer from Ulda 3.8 speed.

Then lvl 51 AV spear.

My advice would be to take time in between questing to grind mobs with high value trash. Keep in mind you aren't just grinding cash, but grinding xp that will give you the level advantage on future quests. Grinding green mobs make for faster kills and faster cash. A good level 20 spot are the wolves in dusk wood. The loot they drop make a decent coin, such as fur patches that sell for 30s for a stack of 5 as well as other vendor trash that sells for 10s+ per small stack. You also get more cash if you are skinning.

Ideally the best way to have a surplus of cash is not to spend money. As a warrior you will need to buy gear at some point, but try and make it once every 5-7 levels. Keep instance loot drops in mind and don't spend too much for minor stat increases. Pick only priority skills and even then wait 4-6 levels, if you can, before heading to the trainer.

Being a penny pincher goes a long way, so spend wisely!

Please reread the post, the thread is based around the direct opposite, where you have more money than you can spend, so you want to spend it to level as fast as possible, not level as cheaply as possible.

I apologize.

In that case, you tagging mobs would be the fastest. If you can get one or two/three people to aoe grind you, preferably a mage and paladin for their uber aoe ability, and a druid for thorns, making tagging easy as pie, you would be set.

A friend of mine multi boxed on another server and got a low level to 30 in two nights, and his higher level characters were only in their 40s.. But the more people to burn down the tagged mob, the better. That would be infinitely faster than doing anything on your own or in a group.

If that is not an option for you, as other people have said, best gear possible at all times, weapon is priority, pre planing quests and having the materials, and a leveling guide to tell you exactly what quests to do in a specific order. It will still take a while, I would say comparable to the faster leveling classes but probably still not as fast.

So hire some Powerleveling mercenaries, but that surplus better be huge xD
