Thx Armilus for those informations !

I was already rank 2, so with the update today, maybe im rank 3 and can get that cloak

I took a look at BRD items and it seems it will be good for me for starting gearing

Cant wait to tank vanilla dungeons, its been a long long time :D

Hey peeps,

Figured I'd post in here as well, newly level 60 warrior with pretty average gear (4.3k HP, +35 def, and 5.7k armor unbuffed). My question is in regards to keeping aggro..

I ran DM west as my first instance at 60, we were with a warlock (really good cc on the elementals) and there was absolutely no issues with aggro management. We died once because the bear boss bugged and pulled the entire floor on us, and the second wipe was because one of the rogues aggroed the level 60 elementals before the demon boss while the healers were oom. The next time I ran it, we had no warlock and I could not keep aggro to save my life. I'd pull, and before the mobs even got to the camp, they were running loose on the priest or dps and they politely informed me I suck and left after two wipes.

Ran scholo the next day once with no mage or priest for cc and managed to somewhat keep aggro on the first pull of 4 after the first skeleton bosses, but our healer left because "I sucked and it was going to be a wipe fest". Ran it about 20 minutes later with a mage and didn't have trouble with aggro at all. Group did end early because someone forgot to loot the viewing room key off rattlegore.

I tanked BRD for almost all of 58-60 and never had aggro management problems.

So, my question.. how do you keep aggro on groups of 3-4 mobs? I know sunder-tab-sunder, my issue seems to be loss of aggro right off the pull (I have time to get a single taunt off before mobs go haywire). Should I be pulling, then battle shouting immediately to get initial aggro? Is my gear just not good enough?

On packs of 3-5 mobs it is in the DPS:ers interest to manage their aoe threat. Many people around here are wrath-babies meaning they assume aoe-tanking is a cake walk, which it isnt. The way I handle it is cleave-tab-sunder-cleave-tab-sunder. Make use of taunt if one breaks off, likewise you should be ready to use mocking blow, and ofcourse if rage allows revenge and shieldslam when ever possible.

This is why i am 5/5 tactic mastery. Pull with bow. Then bloodrage LoS pull. When adds turn corner thunderclap, mocking blow 1. Swap to fury and do a WW. swap to def, revenge one, tant one, concus blow one, swap arms thunderclap, fury, WW.

And like ^ said, soulds like the dpsers are doing aoe too soon. And you had a healer healing/buffing while you pull which causes aggro too.

Thanks dudes, I'll give these ideas a test when I can next get on. My brother will be playing priest with me, so that'll help tremendously.

In regards to the impale apec or what to pick, if you are still doing 5 mans and are not epic dressed, more points in prot is needed. You NEED 3/3 imp sunder, you rarely heroic strike in 5 mans,. Imp revenge is OP in 5 mans, also works on major domo adds.

Imp demo is an off tank build.
