Something i noticed about the air charge is that, if you jump right at or too near of your target the charge is more likely to fail. But when you jump away 8-25 yards from your target it is more likely that your charge works.
it's like you would first hit the ground and then calculate if you can charge or not, my guess would be that the pathing doesn't work untill about jump height from the ground and if you're closer than 8 yards from your target while falling to the jump height it will fail the charge. Sometimes the charge actually starts much higher height than jump height and i believe that's how it should be.
These observation have been located in pvp, mostly AB Goldmine jump and WSG roof to flagroom jump.
