Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Hi, as said, i just hit 60 with my warrior yesterday and i wanted to respec prot, to start farming dungeons, since its hard to find a slot as a fury ... problem is i have almost no def gear

what do you think about this ?

im also questionning about removing 2/2 imp taunt and 3 imp shield block for 5/5 demoralising shout or 3/3 deeps wounds + 2/2 impale

what would be the best for keeping aggro easily / damage mitigation ?

Impale-spec can indeed make tanking 5mans a breeze. It is often also a prefered spec of offtanks in raiding and Maintanks past BWL progression. Improved revenge hold some nice utility for 5mans yes and definitely worth considering but its definitely not required. Here's the maximum TPS spec I use for tanking 5mans/UBRS:

EDIT: Also worth mentioning is that improved shieldblock is never viable in any spec past 1/3 as you only want the extra block-charge. The extra duration isnt worth anything at all.

if its too hard for me, ill definitely try with your version with deep wounds + impale

it may be easier to tank if it crits on cleave on multi tanking since the targets will bleed

Looks like a viable spec for 5mans. You could however move 2 points from imp tac mastery to either heroic strike, imp sunder and/or taunt. You only really need to retain 10 rage after a stance dance because the majority of stance-dancing you will do is to use intercept or mockingblow. Thunderclap isnt really worth it from a TPS perspective if that was your reason for going 4/5.

ST and BRD is a good start. Several upgrades can be had in both of these. After that you can start doing LBRS (and UBRS as OT). Scholo, Strat living/UD and DM are among the hardest ones.

Both your spec and the one that St0rfan posted are fine.

Personally I wouldn't go with impale until I had better gear but it's really situational. If your usually running instances with your guild and you know the healers have decent gear then you don't have to worry about mitigation as much so impale is probably fine. On the other hand, if you are doing a lot of pugs and might need to carry the group some times, then I'd def skip impale for the extra utility that more points in prot brings (imp sunder to help deal with low-rage situations, max mitigation talents like toughness, maybe even imp disarm).

Oh and while your gear sucks, don't forget to use all your abilities. Disarm is often overlooked because it's not needed on raid trash and bosses are immune (or don't have weapons). It's on a relatively short cooldown and it can help a TON, especially in those oh-shit we pulled 2 packs situations.

Once you have a bit better gear, tanking as fury is actually really good in 5mans assuming that you pick up Piercing Howl. If your group is decent you can survive some REALLY bad situations just by spamming piercing howl and letting the healer kite everything.

BRD is a great place to start. You should be fine doing scholo and strat live/UD if your healer has decent gear and you bring some CC. Your def/armor is ok but your HP is low, 12stam food buffs are pretty cheap and easy to farm in the mean time. http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=3825 is also cheap.
