...but a bit cautious of doing so.
I've heard that they're the hardest class to level, and have pretty obnoxious downtime of eating/bandaging, and pretty slow killing at lower levels due to low rage gen. Exaggeration? Since the other server I played on was high rate (you could go 1-60 in like 8 hours /played), I didn't exactly get much of a feel for leveling.
Also a bit worried about tanking. I tried it out on another server, tanking a BRD run, and tanking 4-5 mobs was hell. Having to tab-target single target abilities on 5 mobs was obnoxious. It was just a scramble to keep taunting/sundering mobs that were running to the dps or healer. 1-2 mobs was easy, any more than 3 was a pain. Or was I just doing something horribly wrong?

Leveling is not super easy, as a warrior who can tank you will instantly get invited to instances. Tanking more mobs is harder ofc and when dps is targeting different mobs it gets harder.
remember no one is forcing you to level a warrior

1. Warrior is indeed the hardest, slowest class to level up and most expensive class to gear up properly in pre-raid gear. As a tank you can expect to spend up to 1k gold to get true pre-raid gear. As fury you can expect to spend 2-3k for true pre-raid gear since alot of that gear will last you up to, or even past AQ.
2. Most protection tanks I have encountered will also struggle as soon they need to tank more than 2-3 mobs so you are no alone in this. Tanking is the hardest role you can play in WoW that also brings the highest responsibility of guiding the group through dungeons, knowing and explaining tactics, assigning targets for CrowdControl etc.
To summerize: Warrior is the hardest, most challenging class and most expensive class to play but also the most fun in my experience. It is highly rewarding both in terms of challenging you as a player, and you will be showered in loot and you will always have instant access to all raids and dungeons basically. If you have a hard time tanking 2+ mobs, you dont need to. Just bring CC-heavy group and you will be fine. I however think that aoe-tanking is the most fun aspect of tanking so I never use CC unless absolutely necessary.
EDIT: Formating.

Ugh, yeah, jeez, not even level 10 yet and warrior leveling is already a pain. Fighting +1 level mobs takes me down to 50-60% health and is slow and boring as all fuck.
With a 2h at level 10 it's a good deal faster, but still quite boring. When does it stop being boring?

It gets move fun once you get Overpower and your main abilities such as Mortal Strike or Bloodthirst.

Tbh it's not worth leveling a warrior.
Its my first character on this server thinking it would be great late game. Then you realise almost every guild is already full on tanks and for dps other classes are more wanted.
Basically you had a lot of frustration leveling, spend a lot of money on gear/food etc to find out every class beats you in PvP and you will have a hell of a time finding a raiding guild.

And my experience playing healer and DPS can be summed up as "LF Tank LF Tank LF Tank LF Tank LF Tank". Sick of sitting around spamming "LF Tank".
I'm not looking for a raiding guild, so that won't be an issue.
And since when does "every class beat warrior" in PvP? I was under the impression that Warrior was pretty strong in PvP, provided decent gear.

As I said above you will indeed have instant access to all content as a tank. If you are skilled enough you will also have no problem finding a guild, though if you want to be a guild-maintank that will be hard. Most established guilds already have a maintank for obvious reasons. When it comes to PvP, it is the same as with everything about warriors, very gear dependant.

It is a tough road, yes.
Ugnore people who say dont level one because it is slow or hard or no raid spot.
I was the 4th tank for my guild, and througjh time investment, skill and knowledge I became MT.
Good players will aways have a spot.
See the thread for tanking myliple mobs, i explain my rotation there. Even with my skill set, if I have my best dpsers with me in a 5 man, if they are not focus firing skull, I have to rely on concus blow and taunt while i get othwrs. Can be difficult but with much practice is not hard.

Urgh, yeah, leveling is a bit of a pain. Being ragestarved all the time is frustrating. However, with a bag full of bandages and potions, I don't have much downtime. 7 1/2 hours played and level 15, not too bad I guess.
Does it get faster once blue weapons come into play? I got a level 18 blue 2h, and a level 21 blue 2h off the AH for a couple gold each. Currently using a level 13 green 2h.
