Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

I am looking to optimize one of my Support Tanks that runs Nightfall enchanted with Icey for 20% attack speed reduction.

We previously had him spec 7/10/34 however while him and I tested my demo against his, we found two iasies.

The debuff icon still showed the normal attack power, not the improved. So then I domo shouted the mobs,alllowed imp demo tank to take hits. Allow for buff to fall off, he does demo with 5/5, same damage.

Is Imp demo shout broken? This test was performed on the dark iron dwarfs in BRD so did our high armor reach some sort of armor cap to this level 55 mob?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Note: This test was performed about 1 month ago so I had my support tank respec and want to be able to confirm if it is broken, or was and now fixed, as testing our end would be about 100 gold in cost.

Something definetly is wrong with imp demo shout talent. Numbers in tooltip were just wrong when i used on mobs

Note that demo shout decreases attack power, not damage.

I'm not very well read on these mechanics, but IIRC most mobs only have so much attack power, and I think an untalented Demo Shout can easily reduce it to 0 on some mobs, so talented/untalented wouldn't make a difference.

A good talent when combined with curse of recklessness.

I know this, I reference damage taken because that is how we tested it due to tool tip not updating. Tested how much damage taken with reg demo and with 5/5, it was the same. You may be right about thier ap hitting 0, since they were lvl 55, however I can not afford to test right now as I just filled bank with tank consumables and my Support tank put all his gold into Nightfall which I through some gold to as well.

I too would like to know this. As it currently stands im telling my offtanks to spec into 5/5 but if its bugged its a terrible waste of talent points. Did you report your findings?

If everything is working correctly, 3/5 should reduce a bosses AP to 0. A level 55 will definitely be reduced to 0 without imp demo shout.

The only reason to go 5/5 is if you are using curse of recklessness, in which case a bosses AP will still be a bit above 0 with 5/5 imp demo shout and CoR.

Stor, perhaps you can test this on your next raid and report your findings.

Currently I'm tanking a weekly pug as the guild havnt started raiding yet, hardly a perfect testing enviroment. Also I have no control over the offtanks spec in the pug.
