Looks like Patch 1.7 - ZG

Its 10 def in Sept 8 2005 - http://web.archive.org/web/200509081347 ... item=11810

Then it become 7 def in Feb 16 2006 - http://web.archive.org/web/200602161725 ... item=11810

1.7 launch on Sept 13 2005

From patch notes
"We have determined that the defense statistic was being applied to items too liberally, causing those items to be stronger than they should have been relative to other items of the same level with different effects. As a result, we have reduced the amount of defense points on all items with bonuses to defense by approximately 33% in order to bring those items in line with other similar items."

This also means that force imbued gauntlets should be nerfed in the same manner and make stonegrip better again.

Thanks! I didn't know about the sites you linked, I'll use it in the future.

I almost never tank for my guild, but damn it, I'm kicking myself for not getting the Ony Trink over the necklace right now. Thankfully ZG should help my defense problem a lot.

I wouldn't kick yourself too hard. Even though Ony Trink is amazing is has comparable avoidance to Vigilance Charm

Vigilance Charm
= 2% dodge
= 2% avoidance

Ony Blood
= 8 def 1% parry
= 0.32% dodge 1.32% parry 0.32% miss 0.32% reduced chance to be crit
= 1.96% avoidance 0.32% reduced chance to be crit
plus some other crap like FR and hp5

So Ony Blood is better but only because of the reduced crit chance and miss/parry are slightly better forms of avoidance than dodge because of parry hasting and mobs can miss you while stunned. It's nice but not game breaking.

except the FR the FR is huge, given all the FR fights its needed for in tanking.

It's certainly a nice bonus but I would hardly say its huge. Also most people who carry an FR set are probably going to be selecting the trinket reward anyway so for a fury war or OT to select the neck isn't a big deal at all.

avoidance isnt something worth taking over defense though

avoidance isnt something worth taking over defense though


Nobody is saying this it is, but in his particular situation he shouldn't feel bad at all about taking the neck.
