Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Hey guys im fairly new to Nostalrius, ive kinda played it on and off for awhile but never got that serious into it until now. Im wondering what the best spec for leveling a warrior is, i have been playing on live since burning crusade so i never got to really experience vanilla so thats why im here. I plan to tank at 60 but i was wondering what spec i should level as, is leveling as a tank viable or should i level as arms or fury?

Leveling as a tank is definitely possible. To be honest I'd level as arns. Fury is a pain until higher levels, you miss a lot.

actually 2h fury is the consensus fasted leveling. i pref DW but thats because i dont like to level 2 skills at once and like to do a lot of sword and board for dungeons. but fury is the fastest/best.

fury you do miss more often, but you still hit some, ware ass with a slow 2h, you miss once its a solid 3~ seconds before you even swing again... a lot more down time.

Warriors are a pain to level. And there is about a million of these threads. The truth is fury and arms are really close in terms of leveling speed, and is more about a personal preference than anything.

Play either arms/fury 2H or DW. Whichever playstyle you enjoy most. You wont be significantly better either way.

Arms of 2h Fury.

Right now I am level 42 (near 43).

Leveled till 42 as ARMS (since lvl30 with Whirlwind Axe) and it is pretty good. Especially in dungeons as DPS for the mob-packs with Sweeping Strikes.

Now I am playing 2h-Fury since I got the Polearm from Uldaman (lvl 42 Pole).
First reason: I specc now one time 2h Fury and dont have to respec anymore when I get new weapons
Second: The polearm is pretty fast (2.70)

When I compare them: Fury is more fun and does more single target damage, which is more neccessary for solo leveling. Bind "sit" (Normally "X") and you get free enrage which ends in "tons" of damage :p

What I miss tho is tactical mastery, but in a few level ups I will get there, so it's no problem.

Yeah also as 2h fury you can also use Realiation, so where is the pro @ arms-spec there?

Leveling as DW is a pain in the a.. Tried it and just read "miss" over the head of the mobs ^^

Always keep a slow 2-hander in a bag for Retaliation goodness.
That said, I prefer DW. While it is true that you miss 19% more with auto attacks while dual wielding,, I still find it less streaky than (slow) 2-hander - for every miss with a 2hander, you might hit 3 and miss 2 with dual wield. When the streak is a bad one with a 2hander, it might mean you'll have to reg or even flee due to 4 missed hits in a row (which is about a 0,5% chance vs same lvl mob), while the same scenario (all miss/parry/dodge during ~13 seconds) is an abysmal 0,0002% chance of happening while dual wielding middlish speed weapons. (i think math is correct....eh).
That's all inside the Fury path though. Improved Overpower is very good for evening out things.
