Edgemaster's what do? do what?

What is the +7 skill actually doing? Does it reduce miss/dodge/parry or just dodge/parry? How much crit does it add? How much hit gear do you need to wear with these? Are they Fury only or how good would they be for Prot tanking?

in short:

- 40% of weapon hits are glancing blows
- there is no way to reduce that number
- glancing blows deal 30% less damage than normal hits
- with higher weapon skill, the damage REDUCTION from glancing blows is reduced. This means, that glancing blows deal more damage and since 40% of all hits are glancing blows, this is a HUGE damage boost, hence these gloves are insanely strong.
- they are shit for tanks, but BiS for fury warriors up to C'thun gloves.

Also reduces base chance to miss. +5 skill around 2%, +10 is only another 1%. So +7 is a really good number as you see deminishing returns already from 5 to 10 by 50%.

Most noobs will follow my comment with some stupid statement about how skill only reduces parry dodge, miss chance by 0.04 per skill point, however they ignore the words that state "when you exceed a mobs def skill" which a raid boss has 315, therefore ignore them, they are dumb.

If you are orc, these are okay, not geat for axes boot great for sword. A class without weaponskill passive, these are a must have item.

That's quite ironic. It does reduce your base chance to miss but only by 0.04% per skill point. You're using formulas that only account for defense skill, however it doesn't work this way in vanilla and you have to look at the enemies level instead.

You continue posting nonsense that involves using TBC wowwiki formulas as your sole source of information. In TBC weapon skill as a stat was removed so enemy level and it's defense became interchangeable which becomes a tragic mess whenever you try to apply these to vanilla.

Regarding edgemaster's, these gloves scale relatively backwards. When you get good gear and start stacking world buffs you'll end up using HS much more often, eventually when you spam it every swing you convert roughly 55%+ of your white damage into yellows. Flameguard/Sacrificial gauntlets will become better when you stack world buffs, and C'thun gloves are an upgrade even if you don't HS at all.

Believe what you want.

When itemization was at its peak there is a reason deathsting +3 dagger was Godly and it wasnt for the fewextra damage, same with Hungering Cold +5 swords, with T3 fetting tanks to hit cap.

They increase your rage generation significantly.

They DON'T work with Ironfoe.

A must have if not orc. If orc it depends on gear and buffs as previously mentioned.

I personally use flameguard.

I've concluded that most of the regular posters on this subforum must be horde; always dividing the races in to "orc" and "everything else", completely missing the fact that many (the majority?) of alliance warriors got sword and mace skill due to human racials which will occasionally change gear preferences.

Weapon choices are quite interesting for humans IMO, using the spreadsheet to try to find out whats best (spoiler: probably visk/maladath, visk/cts or maybe some kind of Ironfoe combo depending on factors such as procrate, edgemaster or flameguards etc).
