New to Vanilla WoW. Warrior weapons?

Started this past Wednesday after downloading the client. I haven't played WoW since just before WotLK launched, and only stayed around for a couple months after. My question is, what is the deal with Warrior weapon types. I started a Tauren warrior and am finding that I can only wield 2h blunt weapons. No 2h swords or axes are available for me to use. I see other warriors my level wielding 2h axes and swords. Is this a race restriction? Is it learned through a talent tree and I have just overlooked it? I am specing out as Fury and am only lvl 13 so far. But I was just curious about this going forward.

It\s not a race restriction but you need to learn to use the other types from weapon trainers, there are one in each city, and they learn you different weapons so you have to visit them all.

Excellent! Thank you! Also, is Fury a viable spec for a warrior in vanilla era? I would love to dual wield at later levels and be capable of dealing some dmg. Will this negate my value as a tank?

Dualwield fury is pretty bad when lvling but definitely the superior choice at 60 raiding. 2h fury or arms is the way to lvl up. Tanking can be done in any spec up to 60 and in most 5mans and even UBRS at 60 aswell. Do not lvl as prot, you will regret it.

Dunno about tanking UBRS in other specs, Drakki is a tough guy. For the leveling, if you don't want to tank in the future don't go prot but if you want to tank, go prot. You'd kill stuff maybe slower than other specs but you can tank instances much easier. Also you'll always find groups, there are always people looking for tank, they'll very often whisper you directly. Keep in mind that as Fury you have to share weapons with other people which can rapidly slow down your gearing progress, also some pre-raid Fury BIS are leather and every rogue will want it too(Truestrike Shoulders)
