You want to have a fast weapon. The faster the better.

The reason is Heroic Strike which unloads each weapon swing and which deals a fixed amount of threat. This means high threat per second. But to be honest this is more of an endgame tactic when during raids you typically have unlimited rage to spend.

If you find yourself having more rage than you can spend, get a faster weapon.

This is pretty much all you need to know.

For tanking lvl1-59 get what ever weapon is best currently. For lvl60 tanking find a super fast weapon, preferably a 1.3 dagger.

Use sunder and revenge for threat. Both generate more than HS

That is true. However, at lvl60 raiding you will be ragecapped meaning you are required to spam HS and you'll yield the most TPS from using a very fast dagger and constantly having HS queued up. Lvl 1-59 is another story as you wont ever be rage capped when lvling up in 5man dungeons so your weapon of choice is much more open.

You still want a faster weapon. An add comes or a cc broke, you want to hit that target asap. If revenge isnt available and you only have around 10 rage, a quick white hit puts u over 15 rage for a sunder.

^Aye, faster weapon is generally better when using 1h in any and all situations.

Very good point.
