lockpicking in trade window still bugged...

by Malevolent » Wed Apr 01, 2015 1:56 am

Hi, so the only way to lockpick someone else's lockbox is by taking it in your bags, loot it, and then trade the items back. This is super sketchy and many people legitimately didn't want to give me their lockboxes by fear of me stealing them. It's very annoying, has this ever been mentioned before? Because this was a problem at launch and now one month later it still hasn't been fixed.

Still bugged and there haven't been any updates in bug tracker (https://report.nostalrius.org/plugins/tracker/?aid=120) for the past 4 months.

Honestly, if people don't want to take the 2 seconds to join a party with you and safely have their box opened, don't even bother opening their box. I've had it happen to me a few times where people say they are in a party and trade the box to me, then complain that they think I gave them a different item than what came out of the box.

Lockbox opening these days is a joke anyway, I pulled a sick nasty dragon finger of healing wand the other day for someone and he didn't even tip me a silver. Dude makes 70g+ from the wand no problem and doesn't even have the courtesy to tip even a silver. People are so stingy, I mean don't tip if the loot is shit. Fine. That is reasonable. But when you get nice loot for someone and they just take their item and walk away, that just annoys the shit out of me.

That's why it's a TIP and not a FEE.

I realize that, I just think it's incredibly stingy not to tip when the rogue pulls you something valuable from the box.

I have never had any one not wanting to trade me out of fear. Simply explain to them that it is bugged on the server, and that they can ask any other rogue in the city and they will give them the same answer.

It is annoying(kind of) But really a non issue.

I didn't realize this was a known bug. I've only opened one lockbox and so thought it was just a one-time issue. But we were in a party and I couldn't pick through the 'non-tradeable' slot so they traded me the box and I tried to trade it back...doesn't work of course. Then they started flipping out on me being a troll and scammer as I'm trying to trade back their items piece by piece and they're saying that I'm keeping the good stuff for myself.

This was a bronze lockbox in Stockades, bear in mind and they got all its contents. Didn't stop them from blowing up on me for the next ten minutes.

Anyways, good to know it's a persistent issue in the sense I can at least warn people up front and hopefully avoid that sort of drama in the future.
