Why No Love For Maces?

Abilities like Sinister Strike base their damage off of weapons damage. As maces tend to have the longest delays and highest damage, wouldn't these be superior main-hand weapons to use while leveling?

I can also see the stun procs from Mace Specialization being helpful in PvP as well.

(I've never really played a rogue before, but I started one as an alt. I'm enjoying the toon so far!)

Yes maces are excellent for levelling due to Sinister strike nuking, as are slow swords. Great for questing imo. Further amplified with Lethality in assassination tree.

However, later on the stun effect isn't more valuable than Humans +5 swords passive (if youre human), or the sword mastery in combat tree, due to the mace mastery stun not aiding dps.
On top of that, I don't think theres much argument that combat could ever be better than subtlety for pvp, the value of preparation is just crazy.

Maces hemo spec is used with naxx gear.
