It has to do with the weapon speed
Look at these 2 weps for example
http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=1728http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=19352Teebu has 178 max dmg but it's 2.9 speed, CTS has 198 max dmg and 2.6 speed
Considering that Teebu is heavier than CTS by 0.3, and the slower wep the better hemmo deals, it is said that Teebu is better than CTS in this spec
There was some website explaining these calculations and etc, but I have no clue where it is, I saw it long time ago
This is just to try to make you understand that in this case, the wep speed counts a lot, so that's why I reccomend a heavy wep, so at least 2.7+ (2.8 or 2.9)
1 handed weps with 1.8 - 2.0 ish speed will just tickle as you may imagine now
Your example being used here is incorrect. In this case the CTS sword is the overall better sword to use. The logic behind using a "slow mainhand" is because the slower weapons generally have a larger damage range, or...a higher damage ceiling. DPS is just a calculation of that range over the weapon's speed, which is why slower weapons tend to do less dps, but higher damage per hit.
The CTS sword has a higher damage ceiling (198 vs. 178) and that's all that you really need to know. Our spells (Sinister Strike, Hemo, etc) are instant-cast...so they will do that weapon damage (plus whatever the spell adds). The fact that it's also a faster sword, in this specific example, is simply a bonus.
Robotron's builds are pretty much the standard, although you do have some personal variation. For example...as a Human rogue...you already have +5 weapon skill for swords and maces. You don't need +10 unless you're raiding against end-game bosses that are up 3 levels on you. So you may consider skipping out on Weapon Expertise and instead putting those two points into Endurance. Being able to use Evasion more often will allow you to come out of those multi-mob pulls...alive. And Sprint well...mounts are precious in Vanilla. Alot of players can't afford their 40-mount right away (some just wait until 60). So...moving faster while leveling is really nice. Again...this probably only works if you're a Human rogue.
Remorseless Attacks is a talent that you should have while leveling, not to mention the value it has when you do decide to world PvP (either by choice or not). Me personally...I grabbed Improved SS with my first two talent points and then immediately grabbed Remorseless with talent points 3 and 4, before switching back to combat on my way down to Blade Flurry.
