As for 5.6% vs 6.5% dodge rate (and 24.6% vs 27% miss rate) on bosses I would stick to the previous numbers until anyone provides testing with more hits done, but thats up to everyone by themselves. Latter numbers provide a far lower critcap!

Well, if the base miss rate with 300 WS against a boss is 24.6% for auto-attacks while dual wielding, it should be 5,6% on Specials under the same conditions, isn't it?

I got a Miss on a Sinister Strike on a level 63 Boss with +7% Hit (2% gear, 5% Talents), which, unless I'm overlooking something, proves that the base Miss chance is 8% / 27% on Nostalrius. Whether or not it was the case on retail is a different matter, of course.

You cannot eliminate misses from the hit table in vanilla. 8% caps at 99% for yellows vs a 63. There is always a 1% chance to miss and a 1% chance for spells to resist in vanilla.

Wasnt the 1% miss chance that cannot be avoided a caster only thing?

As for 8%.. Why? Can you elaborate why 8 and 27 go together and not 8 and 24? Miss chance on yellow attacks according to most sources I found is supposed to be 8% with additional 0.6% on lvl 63 mobs (15x0.02 for every additional def that the boss has) = 8.6%.

Now here something I have 0 sources and proof for apart from Taurenrogues claims: every point of weapon skill improves your chance to hit with special attacks by 0.24% leading to:
--> 305 Weapon skill and you need only 8% from spec and gear.
--> 310 Weapon skill and you need only 7% from spec and gear.
--> 315 Weapon skill and you need only 5% from spec and gear.

Im starting to walk on thin ice here, I can send you my personal attack table calculation with said numbers if you want

Just did some digging, was a lot of arguing and back and forth on that point on the old EJ threads. With some people saying they still had the rare miss, but most saying with 9% they never missed specials and citing 8.6% for specials.

As for the DW miss penalty, I believe that is under the assumption miss scales up like special miss does at a 1.2% rate, you would need to parse it to really make a conclusion there, but it also really just doesn't matter, as getting to 24% hit is not even remotely practical and would be a huge loss in dps by losing crit and agility/ap.

This is, indeed, why I have in mind. Pretty sure it was changed during Vanilla, and that by 1.12 you could get 0% Miss on Specials.

Hello, wanted to ask one simple question. Which gloves should I choose - Nightslayer or Devilsaur? I already have Bloodfang pants so Devilsaur gloves wouldn`t benefit from set bonus. At the moment with Devilsaur gloves I have +9% hit. Thanks for answers in advance

I'm getting conflicting information from the warrior subforum stating that weapon skill provides larger amounts of +hit up to 310, has that been verified at all in this testing? When you get a yellow miss at 7%, how much weapon skill did you have?

It seems +skill grants more hit until the difference between the mob Defense Skill & the Rogue WS is inferior to 10, which gives us 305 WS as stated above.

Maybe you just misread the Warrior subforum, or the person who wrote there just mixed things up. You know "until a skill of +10" and "for a skill difference greater than 10" kinda look alike when you read / type things a bit too fast!

That's what I meant, yes. 305 gives 2% hit, which means combat talents alone are 7%.
