Wasnt it confirmed that above equation doesnt apply to nostalrius simply due to them using a different but also possibly blizzlike formula, I recall people mentionning tests in beta and current patch.

Vanillawiki seems infiltrated with info up to wrath, I found the extract you are referring to, however I also found another thread here that lists dmg reduction as 35% with 310 wpn skill dealing 'almost' 100% of the damage again which would support the said nost formula.

The formula used on Nostalrius is Athan's formula :
5 * (D^2 - D + 1) [%], D = Skill Difference/5 = (MobDefenseSkill - YourWeaponSkill)/5

Edit: BTW, do Edgemaster's really give +7 to 2H swords? Posts in the warrior forum say they don't.

During Nostalrius French Beta, it was the formula which was chosen by the staff.

Back then the Community was much much much smaller, and it was common for a Developper to have a conversation with players doing reports / researches on some specific issues (e.g. Glancing Blows), and it was confirmed this "35% - 15% - 5% - 0% damage reduction @ 300 - 305 - 310 - 315 Skill" formula was going to be scripted.

Thus, unless they specifically changed the formula (which I see no reason for them to) since, it is the formula used for Glancing Blows on Nostalrius.

Personally I do not see how Brutality Blade can be better than Maladath for humans if the formula stated by Youfie is used (which it seems to be).

51.6 dps + 9str + 9agi + 1%crit VS 56.4 dps + 4.2% extra dmg on glancings. Maladath is also 0.4s faster.

Can someone please explain why Brutality would be better, because i fail to see any way.

This is the numbers I got by using that formula, there's a minor difference between 300 and 310 in the results compared to the image you posted. The formula doesn't seem to work for 310+.

See, this is something I love about the private server rogue community - there is so much disagreement about theorycrafting, that people end up wanting different items. Makes it so much easier to appear fair as loot council that way .

I'm really sorry, I misread this link and wrote Hermit's formula instead of Athan's, which indeed doesn't "add up" properly and doesn't work for 310+.
