Stealth broken?

Are you guys also experiencing stealth to be way too "weak"? I'm level 14 and I can't even stand remotely close to mobs 2-3 levels lower than me before them seeing me and attacking...

Same here. Specced 2 points in Master of deception but still.
Though I have no rogue experience from vanilla.

Yes this is normal, you need to approach from behind. At level 22 you get distract which makes it much easier. Being taken out of stealth as soon as you're spotted is a bug however, you are meant to remain stealthed until hit. This is reported under Artifact ID #441 on bugtracker.

Also remember to buy new rank for stealth when it becomes available.

The people parroting the "this how it was in vanilla" and "just invest in that skill" answers are completely ignoring the fact that yes, stealth IS broken on this sever. Not only that mobs spot you way too easily no matter how you look at it, they do not give you the warning stare they are supposed to, as well as stealth drops immediatly once they spot you instead of of dropping once you take damage. I have compared to other private server where stealth behaves like it should and it's clear that this server has a few severe stealth bugs. As it stands, rogue pve is a joke until they will fix these.

To emphasize the bug: the issue isn't being detected in general..
The issue is that you should get a "huh?" warning from the mob before it attacks you.
Right now, you are immediately smashed out of stealth, no warning.

Stealth *was* buggy on retail, but in different ways.

Being spotted easiy from the front is vanillalike. Also mob lvl affects your chance to get discovered as does stealth rank.
Stealth dropping on combat start is vanillalike.
No warning stare is a bug.

AKA "oh shit, stand still for 3 seconds"

Heres how stealth works on Nostalrius:

Red color level- Stealth? What stealth? You're detected at aggro range.

Orange color level- You can get by them even if you are within aggro range but don't push it. You come anywhere close to them and you're detected.

Yellow color level- You can stand behind these monsters all day but as soon as you cut in front of their field of vision, they will see you up to three yards away. Don't walk in front of them.

Green color level- You can walk in front, behind, or wherever, just don't go directly on top of them or they WILL detect you.

Grey color level- No problem.

I have been messing with this over the past week, I never once have received a warning from a mob.
I was either busted right out of stealth (correctly) for being too low level or not noticed at all until the mob was on top of me. I have not been able to trigger any sort of warning from mobs. Have you? Maybe I'm mistaken here...
