Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

So i just started on the server yesterday and I just hit 11 on my rogue. I wanted to start pick pocketing mobs to earn a little coin on the side of questing. But it seems that every time i go to sap a mob i am instantly put into combat and thrown out of stealth. I am not in front of the mob when I sap, i am behind them so they shouldn't be able to see me. Also the mobs are not higher level then me they are level 6 and I am level 11 so they shouldn't be able to see me. Any thoughts on why this is occurring?

It's working as intended. There is a talent in the Sublety tree called "Improved Sap" that gives you a 90% chance to return to stealth mode after using your Sap ability, at steps of 30% (max 3/3).
