I currently have the option of going Lobotomizer+Bonescraper or Vis'Kag+Mira's Song

I'm debating if I should stay with my backstab spec or swap to Hemo.
What would be the best thing to do?

It's ironic that you say that, as playing daggers effectively takes a lot more skill than it's sword/hemo counterpart.

@OP- Based on your weapons at the moment, I would certainly agree with the 2nd poster who suggested going hemo and using the bonescraper as your off hand (which tbh is probably the best option outside of raid daggers for hemo off hand).

Hemo will provide much more utility to your group if we're talking BG pvp. The build is way more energy-efficient than daggers, stun-locking your opponent is easier, just off the top of my head. My issue with Hemo is that it's a pretty boring spec (at least for me).

I acquired perditions a few weeks ago, prior to that I was always hemo with vis'kag/core-hound tooth. I enjoy pvp way more now, daggers completely destroy hemo in regards to on demand burst. Where hemo completely trumps daggers is stunlock-ability. Hemo has the ability to completely lock someone down from 100-0 (cooldowns permitting on both sides), and that's just not feasible with daggers. That being said, you can 100-0 some classes with crits on your ambush/backstab.

hope this was helpful, having played both specs with some pretty awesome weapons, I wouldn't go back to hemo any time soon.

Daggers requires more finesse and awareness of your CDs (since you don't have prep) and DRs (since you will be energy starved pretty quickly you need to control the fight more be it through poison kiting or gouging. This is not to say that daggers isn't viable, quite frankly I find the burst much more effective in PvP and it is much more satisfying to outplay someone with daggers than mashing 2 buttons, at least that is what I see most hemo rogues doing.

I totally agree, hemo spec is so boring...
But if you have viskag hemo will be more efficient...btw play daggers if you want to try it, more funny

You don't have prep in your dagger pvp spec? Most 21-8-22 build variations have prep.

31/8/12 is viable (and funnier) as well if you run 5/8 T1.

You basically trade fixing the shit CP generation of backstabbing thanks to SF vs more CDs/flexibility with Prep.

Yep... Backstab crits are so much more satisfying with SF, the blood splatter visual and sound effect do wonders... oh and so does the additional CP XD

Daggers is better for 1v1ing Mages but Hemo is better for literally everything else.

As Daggers, you will struggle to kill geared players without using Thistle Tea or Renataki's (ZG trink). You also are forced into a play style where you have to kill people in your opener, and if you fail then your choices are to run away/reset the fight or die. It's also basically impossible to fit 5/5 Master of Deception in a Dagger build, and stealth is total shit without that talent. Lastly, you will spend a lot of time starving for energy as Daggers. Hemo costs HALF as much energy as backstab.

Hemo is better 1v1 EVERY class except Deep Frost Mages. Hemo is far better for 1vX and world PvP as well. You are able to use Blind, Gouge and Kick way more frequently and still have enough Energy pooled to do damage if you're playing right. You also build combo points on new targets basically TWICE as fast as Dagger spec

TL;DR
Daggers is good for fighting Frost Mages and killing under geared players, or gaking someone in Cheap Shot duration then Vanishing
Hemo is overall better PvP spec by miles. Play Hemo or you're retarded.
