Good rogue PVP build?

Hello everyone, I have a rogue and he's not max level yet but when he is I would like to pvp with him but I don't know a good build for it. Could anyone help me out?

You're going to need to be a lot more specific when it comes to rogues. What is your weapon preference? Playstyle? Either way, here are a few builds to give you an idea of what you're looking for hopefully:

CB Prep - http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#fhe0RxkZhfZVMecc0o - This is commonly known as "CB Prep" and the spec utilizes backstab to generate combo points along with the cold blood eviscerate for very clutch finishing. This spec is best used at entry levels of gear though it also works relatively well at higher gear levels, though because you'll use Backstab you'll need a solid dagger to make this build worthwhile. You have a filler point or two in each of the trees, out of assassination you can put that Improved Poisons point elsewhere. If you don't use Expose Armour then feel free to allocate them to Improved Poisons also though you'll probably use it later on which is why I take it. In Combat, the 2% dodge can be moved to improved sinister strike also in the event you can't get behind someone to backstab ever and you need to generate combo points. In Subtlety you can move a lot around though I find this the most ideal overall. If you don't value improved sap, setup is good for melee.


Imp Sprint Prep - http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#fhe0oxZhj00bZVMecc0o - This is an alternative to CB Prep where you trade out Cold Blood and lose on the burst but gain Improved Sprint to give you a better chance against mages. This build gives you four ways to break frost nova/various slows. If you're to move points, you can drop 2 from Lightning Reflexes for Improved Sinister Strike. Plays the same as CB Prep just without the guaranteed Eviscerate Crit for better odds against mages.


CB Hemo - http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#fhe0RxkZZxMjochRq - This is a hemo build that focuses on CB eviscerates to seal the deal. Yet again, you can move points around in the subtlety tree, you can drop ghostly strike for whatever reason to 5/5 nightstalker. Or drop improved sap and reallocate the points.

Imp Sprint Hemo - http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#fhe0oxZhxM0bZxMjobhoo - Gains improved sprint at the cost of losing Cold Blood. You can move the points from setup to 2/3 Improved Sap if you want. I prefer CB Hemo over this though.

This is what I'm running with, probably can't afford only putting 3/5 MoD if you're non NE. Also this spec is heavily gear dependent, without a good MH and a sizable amount of crit you're not gonna do well with this and even then you can get screwed over if you don't play your CDs properly.

might do a lot of damage, but this spec lacks the utility of sub talents. No stealth speed, no imp sap, no hemo to build up combo points quickly, no serrated blades... and the trade-off isn't very good. Crit give you combo pts? That's more of a sustained dps pve thing. Kidney shot debuff, and 10 energy? it's not a fair trade.

Dis, but there are several point allocations you need to consider depending on what you're doing.
That build is really good for 1v1s.

I'm gonna question the 2/2 Expose Armor when you're doing group pvp.

This is what I ended up preferring the most after different specs tests :

- The reason behind 2/5 improved KS over 2/2 improved EA is that you're going to use KS way more than EA. At this point, providing 6% more dmg from all sources to your team can be huge in group pvp on a target you are locking down which needs to be nuked. Even when you're playing small skirmishes, this is gonna affect both physical and magic dmg done to your KSed target.
2/2 EA is amazing for duels. 2/5 KS is way better for group pvp.

- 1/5 Vile Poisons > This point alone gives your poisons 8% chance to not be resisted, including Blind.
This is working against Poison Cleansing Totems and Druid's Abolish Poison as well as anti-venoms. In group pvp, providing that really strong and sticking crippling slow is one of your best tool.
You're also gonna be a pain in the ass to druid's trying to get the flag out by keeping him crippled until the next Abolish Poison tick. It's gonna force him to shapeshift (and waste mana) to remove the slow and/or re-apply Abolish at some point, which means more occasions to catch him in normal form with your KS/Evisc.
That clutch resist is always doing wonders.

- 2/5 Improved Poisons > You need to reduce the situations where you're going to get ass fucked cause your crippling didn't proc for 5 secs on your target. There is nothing more frustrating than random shit luck on cripp procs. The higher your poison proc % the better.

At some point you can even do 2/5 Vile poisons and 1/5 Improved Poisons if you feel like it. But tbh, even with 3/8 BF and 2/5 Improved Poisons you'll still get few of these extremely frustrating situations where you won't get a proc in 5 secs of melee uptime on that random vurtne/drakedog/laintime.


In short : 2/2 EA for duels, 2/5 KS for BGs/group wpvp.

Lethality seems overrated for that spec as Hemo won't crit nearly as much as Improved Backstab.
How competitive is something like a Dagger 21/8/22 for group pvp?
